Brecken – Passion, Leadership, and Dedication

Brecken Robert Vishio is a bright and enthusiastic student at The Village School of Naples, where he has discovered a passion for theater and a strong sense of community. As a member of the Class of 2030, Brecken’s favorite subject is theater, where he thrives in the welcoming and thoughtful environment. He loves the excitement of performing and has had the opportunity to participate in memorable productions like Sister Act and even join the upper school performance of Pippin. For Brecken, theater is not just a subject but a source of joy, and he never likes to miss it.

Brecken's leadership skills have shined through during his time at TVS. One significant project was his 5th-grade capstone, where he led worship for the younger children at his church. Taking the stage to sing and perform hand motions for the kids not only helped him build confidence but also gave him a deep sense of fulfillment, knowing he was contributing to the spiritual growth of the next generation.
Attending weekly chapel services has had a profound impact on Brecken’s spiritual journey, helping him grow closer to God beyond the usual Sunday church services. He values the opportunity to take a break from the busy week and dedicate additional time to worship.

Brecken’s favorite Christ Skill is Effort, a value he applies to every aspect of his life. Whether he’s preparing for a test, performing in a play, or navigating daily challenges, Brecken believes in always putting forth his best effort. This dedication is reflected in his accomplishments, including being awarded the Kind Knight Award three years in a row and receiving an honorable mention for his science fair project.
A key mentor for Brecken has been Mr. Noyes, his 4th and 5th-grade math teacher. Mr. Noyes’s kindness and support helped Brecken adjust to life at TVS, and his guidance instilled in him a deeper love for math, which continues to influence Brecken’s academic journey.

Teamwork is important to Brecken, and he works closely with his classmates to achieve common goals. He recalls collaborating with friends during math scavenger hunts, where they would help each other solve problems. In social studies, Brecken and his classmates divided research tasks for a Civil War project, each focusing on a different historical figure and then bringing their findings together to create a comprehensive presentation.

Brecken’s commitment to service extends beyond the classroom. He volunteers at his church every month, helping lead worship time for young children at Surf City, where they play games, sing songs, and learn about the gospel. One of his most memorable experiences was leading the worship himself, an opportunity that filled him with joy and a sense of purpose.

Looking to the future, Brecken’s aspirations are to continue growing as both a student and a friend. He plans to work harder in his studies and surround himself with positive influences to ensure his personal and academic success. With his enthusiasm, dedication, and strong faith, Brecken is poised to achieve great things in the years to come.
