Gia – Athleticism, Teamwork, and Confidence

Gia Andrenia Frere is a driven and talented student-athlete at The Village School of Naples, where she has made a remarkable impact both on and off the courts. A member of the Class of 2028, Gia’s favorite sport is Varsity Tennis. For her, the camaraderie of the team, the supportive nature of her teammates, and the excellent coaching make tennis an experience she treasures. She finds joy in the drills and games at practice, which runs throughout the week, and the competitive thrill of tournaments like districts, where she made it to the semi-finals alongside many of her teammates. Gia cherishes these moments as they foster teamwork and challenge her to improve her skills while having fun.

Beyond tennis, Gia is also proud of making two varsity teams—Volleyball and Tennis—an achievement that showcases her dedication and talent in athletics. She reached this milestone through countless hours of practice, even dedicating time outside of the regular season to sharpen her abilities. This commitment has not only made her a key player on her teams but has also helped her develop confidence in herself.

A standout aspect of Gia’s time at TVS has been the invaluable support she receives from her role model, Cally Sebold, another TVS student. Cally has been an encouraging and kind mentor for Gia, guiding her through both volleyball and tennis. Her calm demeanor, skill in both sports, and generosity as a teammate have inspired Gia to emulate her qualities. Gia feels incredibly grateful to have Cally in her life, describing her as someone who makes every day better during tennis season and helps her grow as both an athlete and a person.

As Gia reflects on her journey at TVS, one of her proudest accomplishments is finding confidence in herself, particularly through the friendships she’s built by helping others. The support of her teammates and mentors has played a crucial role in her development, pushing her to keep improving both athletically and personally.

Gia’s passion for sports, dedication to improvement, and genuine kindness toward others reflect her character as a student-athlete. Her journey at TVS is just beginning, but she has already laid the foundation for great things ahead. With her determination and support system, Gia is sure to continue thriving and achieving her goals both on the court and beyond.
