My Day at TVS
Our Upper School uses a Modular Schedule. Our schedule rotates to ensure that every student will have the opportunity to learn during the time of day when they are at their best. The academic year is divided into six terms, each 28 days long.
8:00 A.M
Zero hour
While the school day hasn’t officially started, we have designated this time for clubs such as NHS, Knights Write, and Bible Study to meet before academics begin.

8:30 A.M.
Academics
Throughout the first half of their day, Upper School students take a range of courses, including English, History, Foreign Language, Science, Math and an Elective (Studio Art, Theater, Engineering, APs, etc.).
9:55 A.M.
WIN
“What I Need” time is incorporated into each day providing a period similar to study hall that allows students to meet with teachers for help and complete work if needed.
If there are important announcements that impact the entire Upper School to be shared, then this period will be used for an assembly.
On Wednesdays this time is used for Chapel service. The entire Upper School gathers in the North Naples Church (NNC) Sanctuary to listen, sing, think spiritually and pray.

11:50 A.M.
Lunch
With a no cell-phone policy in place, students break from learning and enjoy connecting on the campus picnic tables. All grades gather to enjoy Chef Amos’s delicious hot lunches. A nutritious salad bar is also always available, along with some healthy quick-take options. Some student favorites include orange chicken with lo mein, garlic bread, grab-and-go wraps, Philly cheese steak, and the LaCroix selection.
12:25 P.M.
Art electives
Students hone their craft in visual arts classes that can include Studio Art (drawing, painting, graphic design and other 2-D media), ceramics and digital art. Advanced Placement Studio Arts available for 2D and 3D design.
Working with various mediums in each course offering, students develop technical proficiency and learn to reflect creatively while building their portfolios. They also learn to work collaboratively and independently, and to thoughtfully critique the work of their peers. Some course activities include drawing from life, experimenting with photography techniques in both studio and natural environments, integrating AI-generated concepts into sculptural pieces, documenting process and final works through professional photography, and engage in critiques and to refine their artistic vision. Advanced courses include research, observational writings and sketchbook work in addition to studio time.

1:45 P.M.
Break
At this time students are able to enjoy some fresh air outside, play basketball, purchase a snack from the SGA snack cart, or just relax with friends before their next class starts.
2:00 P.M.
